A young girl was killed when she stepped over a land mine near her house in Adin Khel area of Lakro on Friday. According to official sources, 8-year-old Javeria, daughter of Sher Muhammad was killed as a result of landmine blast, which was planted by miscreants near the house of a tribal elder, Haji Rehmat Syed. The blast also caused damage to the nearby houses.
In another incident the body of a tribal leader, Malik Sher Muhammad was found in the fields at Gagezai, Lakro of tehsil Saafi. The deceased was reportedly kidnapped by the militants last night. His body was handed over to the heirs for burial. Meanwhile, 62 persons who were declared suspicious by the Political Administration handed themselves over to the authorities. The forces also defused a landmine, planted near the residence of Malik Ataullah at Gagezai. Taliban spokesman, Sajjad Mohmand claimed responsibility for the killing of Malik Sher Muhammad.
