President felicitates Christians on Easter

Co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party President Asif Ali Zardari felicitating the Christians on the occasion of Easter on Sunday (April 24) has vowed to work for the promotion of human equality, religious tolerance and interfaith harmony. "I felicitate the Christians of the world, both within Pakistan and abroad and wish them a blessed Easter", the President said in a message on the occasion.
The President said that on this occasion he also wished to reiterate that the policy of equality, freedom and security for all minorities, including Christians, as guaranteed in the Constitution and as promised by the Quaid-e-Azam and Quaid-e-Awam will continue and that there will be no compromise on it.
The President also reiterated the pledge to safeguard the right of all minorities to freely profess and practice their religion. The President said that our Christian brothers and sisters were law-abiding and loyal citizens and the nation was proud of their great contributions to the advancement and development of the country. "Let us on this day dedicate ourselves to interfaith harmony and to the progress and prosperity of all sections of the society", he said.
