Provincial Zakat Council Punjab in its 129th meeting has accorded approval to the names of Chairmen Zakat Committees of as many as 29 districts of the province under section 16(4) of Zakat and Usher (amended) Ordinance 1997. Each Chairman of District Zakat Committee has been appointed for three years and a formal notification has been issued in this regard. Chief Administrator Zakat and Secretary Zakat & Usher Punjab presided over the meeting.
Khalifa Abdul Majeed has been nominated as Chairman Zakat Committee for district Lahore, Hasan Ali Khan for district Kasur, Muhammad Arif Khan Sandhela for Sheikhupura, Javed Mansoor Pannu for Nankana Sahib, Mian Sohail Ahmad for Sialkot, Chaudhry Farrukh Majeed for Gujrat, Syed Tariq Yaqub Rizvi for Mandi Bahauddin, Basharat Raza Butt for Hafizabad, Ajab Hussain for Rawalpindi, Muhammad Boota Javed for Jhelum, Commander Abdul Qayyum Khan (Retd) for Attock, Subedar Muhammad Ikram for Chakwal, Chaudhry Arshad Mehmood Advocate for Khushab, Hakim Muhammad Ayun Qureshi for Mianwali, Muhammad Ramzan Sial for Bhakkar, Nazir Hussain Bajwa for Faisalabad, Anwarul Haq for Toba Tek Singh, Hafeez ud din Gadhi for Jhang, Dr R.M.Yasin for Chiniot, Begum Shamshad Noorullah Khan for Multan, Haji Muhammad Ishaq for Khanewal, Nasim Khan Khichi for Vehari, Malik Shaukat Khan for Lodhran, Sohail Shehzad Khakwani for Bahawalpur, Mian Mumtaz Ahmad Wattoo Advocate for Bahawalnagar, Mian Khalid Shaheen for Rahim Yar Khan, Malik Muhammad Saeed Jar for DG Khan, Malik Niaz Ahmad Panwar for Muzaffargarh while Malik Abdul Shakoor has been nominated as Chairman District Zakat Committee Layyah. The meeting was told that the names of Chairman District Zakat Committee of remaining districts are under consideration and final approval of provincial Zakat Council will be obtained after final decision in this regard.
