The Pearl Continental (PC) has opened its hotel in Muzaffarabad at a cost of Rs 1.5 billion, which is an effort to promote tourism in Azad Jummu and Kashmir (AJK). Rolf R. Bauer, Director of Operations of Hashoo Group of Hotels, Irshad B. Anjum, RVPO/GM PC Lahore, and Aamir H. Kazi, General Manager of PC Muzaffarabad disclosed this during a joint press conference held here on Wednesday.
They said Azad Jummu and Kashmir (AJ&K), the paradise on earth for its spectacular natural marvels and mesmerising scenic beauty, should now consider tourism among its top priorities and the PC in Muzaffarabad is the best starting point to take concrete steps towards the goal of promoting tourism in the region.
On the occasion, Bauer said the PC Muzaffarabad is no less than any international standard hotel with all facilities; such effort will prove helpful in promoting tourism. He stressed upon the media to come forward and help in the national cause of promoting tourism in AJ&K. The Pearl Continental management was completely supportive towards this national level cause and a great initiative, which would certainly bring very positive change in the lives of the local people.
Irshad B. Anjum told the media about the importance of PC Muzaffarabad in terms of tourist facilitation and economic growth for the local people. He was highly grateful to the media, which in his opinion had been great help in promoting various national causes, including promotion of tourism industry. Aamir H. Kazi informed the newsmen that this hotel was built on 28 acres of land on the top of a hill.
