Direction sought to set aside NAB ordinance 1999

An application has been filed before the Lahore High Court seeking direction to set aside NAB ordinance 1999 and all orders, either judicial or administrative, passed under it as it was issued by unconstitutional former president Pervez Musharraf.Muhammad Altaf has filed the application into his pending petition against NAB as its formation is not complete.
He said office of the chairman is vacant since long while appointment of director general NAB Punjab has also been challenged in LHC. He prayed to the court to declare said ordinance ultra vires of constitution and nullify all orders passed by all accountability courts in absence of chairman NAB. He further prayed that head office of NAB be sealed and all accountability court be abolished besides requiring parliament to enact a new law on accountability.
