The profit after tax of Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited has increased to Rs 145.047 million in the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 97.861 million earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday declared that the company's earning per share has increased to Rs 23.55 in the period under review against Rs 15.89 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's sales increased to Rs 1,130.253 million in this quarter against Rs 949.311 million in the same quarter last year while the cost of sales stood at Rs 669.974 million against Rs 586.364 million. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 224.162 million in the first quarter of 2011 against Rs 151.311 million in the same quarter in 2010.
