Birth, death and marriages registration: UCs directed to complete pending work

Union Councils in Punjab were directed to complete pending work of birth, death and marriages registration and up-to-date their records by May 15.
Punjab Local Government Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal issued these directives here on Saturday, disclosed an official. The Union Council staff has also been directed to seek co-operation for collection of information in this regard from parents, notables, NGOs, teachers, chowkidars, lady health visitors, numberdars, maternity centres and Ulamas of their respective areas.
The Secretary emphasised that the people should cooperate with their respective Union Council staff for birth registration of their children, death registration of their relatives and marriage registration. "The first step to get the citizenship of Pakistan for a child is registration of his/her birth at the respective Union Council and parents should get registered their child to avoid complications in coming days.
