Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Distributors Association have demanded that the government should use their influence on the LPG marketing companies that they should not announce the increase in the prices of LPG by Rs 9 per kg on May 3.
Vice Chairman LPG Distributors Association Ateeq Khan while talking to Business Recorder said that it is expected that marketing companies will increase the prices by Rs 9 per kg because in international market the price of LPG has increased by around 6000 dollars per ton but the real fact is that the companies had not imported LPG for the last two to three months because the LPG demand was not so high and they were fulfilling the demand from the local resources.
He said that the reason behind the low demand of LPG is that rickshaws were converted from LPG to CNG and they were the biggest producers of LPG. Khan said that if the prices were increased the common man would be the sufferer as well as increase will also destroy their business.
While giving the details of the expected increased prices in Lahore Khan said that the price of 11 kg domestic cylinder will be increased from Rs 1105 to Rs 1205 while the price of 45.4 Kg commercial cylinder will be increased by Rs 400 from Rs 4297 to Rs 4700.
