Surgical goods export registers increase

The export of surgical goods from the country registered an increase of 2.66 percent during the last nine months of current financial year. Surgical goods amounting to US $18.19 million were exported during July 2010 to March 2011, said Federal Bureau of Statistic (FBS).
The export of surgical goods was recorded at US $17.72 million from July-2009 to March-2010, it added. During the period under review, cutlery goods of about 64.119 million were exported, showing an increase of 37.91 percent as against US $46.49 million of the same period last year. Meanwhile, export of electronic fans increased by 26.39 percent during July 2010 to March 2011 as about 1,348 thousand units worth US $27.8 million were exported.
