ICC welcomes formation of ICC Palestine

International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) meeting of the Middle East-North Africa Regional Consultative Group was convened at Amman, Jordan on 20th April 2011 hosted by ICC Jordan and chaired by Tariq M Rangoonwala, ICC's Regional Co-ordinator for MENA and Chairman ICC Pakistan.
The meeting was inaugurated by Dr Hani El-Mulki, Minister for Industry and Trade, Government of Jordan. The ICC Middle East-North African region comprise of ICC National Committees from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia and UAE. In attendance were National Committee Chairmen and Secretary Generals. In addition ICC Palestine Council comprising of Palestine business community representatives was welcomed to the membership of the region.
The ICC Regional Consultative Group Middle East-North Africa resolved to endorse and support the establishment by ICC Palestine an international arbitration centre in Jerusalem to be known as the Jerusalem Arbitration Centre (JAC) to help resolve international investment and trade disputes of the business community from Palestine.
The meeting was also attended by Munib Masri, Chairman of ICC Palestine. Others who attended were Ebrahim Mohamed Ali Zainal of ICC Bahrain, Fady Asly of ICC Georgia, Mohammad Asfour of ICC Jordan, Wajid Bizri of ICC Lebanon, Remy Rowhani of ICC Qatar, Mohammed AlGhazzawi of ICC Saudi Arabia, Dr Ahmed Saif Belhasa of ICC UAE, Philip Kucharski of ICC in Paris, Francois Ceyrac of ICC in Paris, Hamad Buamim of the World Chambers Federation and Sami Houerbi of ICC International Court of Arbitration.-PR
