Abbottabad operation, drone attacks: Imran convenes PTI's CEC meeting today

08 May, 2011

Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has summoned party's central executive committee (CEC) meeting today (Sunday) to deliberate over the implications of the Abbottabad operation and chalk out a future strategy regarding blocking Nato supplies against the unabated US drone attacks in tribal areas.
According to PTI's spokesman, Imran Khan would chair the CEC meeting and announce a plan of action to block Nato supplies and other affirmative actions to mobilise public opinion for the sake of the country's sovereignty.
Khan also condemned the Friday US drone attack in North Waziristan resulting in loss of precious innocent lives that came in the wake of the Abbottabad operation, which according to him shattered the country's sovereignty. He further said that the confused and conflicting statements by the present rulers on the Abbottabad operation would only embolden the US to continue its reckless policy of unilateral military operations inside Pakistani territory.
