Zardari renews pledge to support PRCS

President Asif Ali Zardari has reiterated government's support to Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in its efforts to serve people. In a message on the occasion of World Red Cross/Red Crescent Day to be celebrated on May 8, the president said the celebration of Red Crescent Day signifies the contribution people can make, both at the individual and communal levels, to make Pakistan a better place to live.
He congratulated PRCS and its international affiliates on celebrating World Red Crescent and Red Cross Day. The president said, "It is commendable that PRCS serves humanity in accordance with its fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality." He appreciated that the Society has been extending its services without any discrimination on the basis of nationality, race, religion, class, colour, creed, gender or political opinion.
Concluding, he said, "On this auspicious occasion, I reiterate assurance to PRCS the support of the government in all its humanitarian endeavours and towards making the Society a strong and vibrant organisation." He wished success to Pakistan Red Crescent Society in all its humanitarian endeavours.
