'Work on Lawai Hydel Project to commence soon'

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti Saturday said that construction work on 69 Megawatt Lawai Hydel Power Project would start soon and announced establishment of the Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University in Chitral. Addressing a public meeting in Chitral, he also directed starting of classes in the campus from September this year. Provincial President ANP, Senator Afrasiab Khattak also addressed the meeting.
The chief minister asked world community to refrain from making allegations and respecting the sovereignty of Pakistan and extend all level support to the Pakistani nation to battle the cancer of terrorism in an effective manner. He said that sacrifices in war on terror are not meant to appease anyone, but aimed at bringing stability and protection of future generation from the menace of terrorism.
He said that the Abbottabad incident has become a part of history and is a result of the mistakes and weaknesses of all forces, adding that levelling allegations only on Pakistan is injustice. He said that if Pakistan is not sincere in the war against terror, then no one is.
Hoti observed that suicide attacks on Benazir Bhutto, Asfandyar Wali, Afrasiab Khattak, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Parade Lane, GHQ, military installations, bazaars, markets, mosques, imambarghs, funeral prayers and martyrdom of the hundreds of the personnel of security forces including 500 workers of ANP speak of the resolve and sincerity of the people of Pakistan in war against terror. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has paid a huge price in the battle against terrorism and will continue offering the sacrifices till elimination of the menace of terrorism.
The chief minister on the occasion announced an amount of rupees 50 million for the repairing of urban roads while another amount of Rs 24 million would be spent on the repairing, rehabilitation and beautification of the historical mosque of Chitral. He also directed preparation of reports on the construction of Media Colony and hostel for Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) and another amount of Rs 1.5 million for Chitral, Boni and Darosh bars associations. He also announced the upgradation of two high, three middle and three primary schools. He also announced provision of computers and bus and construction of extra rooms in Bacha Khan Model School, Chitral.
Addressing the public meeting, provincial president, ANP Senator Afrasiab Khan Khattak said that ANP does not believe in discrimination, saying all those residing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are brothers. He said that the party has achieved right over the province and its resources. He said that ANP is confronting terrorists and has rendered matchless sacrifices in this regard.
