Pre-budget seminar at Isra University held

A pre-budget seminar was held at Asadullah Kazi Auditorium in Isra University, Hyderabad. The seminar was conducted in joint collaboration with Institute of Cost and Management Accountants Pakistan (ICMAP), Karachi Bar Council, Hyderabad Tax Bar Association, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Isra University.
Vice Chancellor of Isra University, Professor Dr Asadullah Kazi graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Nadeem Ahmed Farooqui, Chief Commissioner, Inland Revenue, Hyderabad was the guest of honour on the occasion. The event commenced with recitation from the Glorious Qur'an followed by a welcome address by Professor Dr Asandas Manwani, Chairperson, Department of Management Sciences, Isra University.
Speakers from relevant fields deliberated on the topic of budget and the current scenario of economic situation. It was emphasised that survival of the country depends on active tax collection system based on equitable justice, taking into account all earners of the society.
The challenges being faced by the country like war on terror, law and order situation and unemployment problems were appraised and possible solutions to them were proposed for consideration of budget preparing authorities. It was resolved unanimously that the only solution to survival is in reducing non-development government expenditure, increasing exports and reviving sick industries by supporting them to restart production.
Existing industries should be supported by controlling the energy crisis, reducing finance cost and inflation, while government policies towards economic revival should become key features in this regard. Speakers on the occasion included Muhammad Amjad Qadeer, Consultant at MAQ the Consultant, A.S. Jafery, Vice President of Pakistan Tax Bar Association and Muhammad Hanif Ajari, Vice President, ICMAP.
