Shahbaz warns against laxity in uplift projects

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has warned against any negligence in the execution of public-welfare projects and has directed the concerned officials to ensure timely and transparent completion of the projects. The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting regarding Gujranwala Medical College project here on Monday, said an official.
Shahbaz directed the concerned officials to evolve a comprehensive monitoring system in planning and development department and the development projects should be reviewed on regular basis under this system.
Expressing his displeasure over the delay in implementation of Gujranwala Medical College project, the Chief Minister directed that the implementation process should be completed by June 15. Earlier, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer Gujranwala gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister regarding the medical college project.
MNA Engineer Khurram Dastageer Khan, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Health and Principal Gujranwala Medical College attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also presided over a meeting to review wheat procurement campaign in the province. Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Ministers Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Nadeem Kamran, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Food and Secretary Agriculture were present in the meeting.
