A gathering of music lovers and Karachiites was treated to a scintillating evening at the residence of German Consul General Dr Christian Brecht. The occasion was modern jazz performance by the Jonas Schoen Quartet. The group led by Jonas Schoen on the saxophone, Buggy Braune on the piano, Sven Kerschek on the bassand Heinz Lichius on the drums enthralled the gathering by their performance.
The leader of the Quartet, Jonas Schoen alternated between the saxophone and the clarinet and switched effortlessly between the instruments with equal ease. The performance which lasted more than an hour was one of heart warming rhythm and foot tapping tempo getting the whole audience involved and taking it along on a journey of musical discovery.
The evening was made possible through the efforts of the German Consul General Dr Christian Brecht, Nadia Riaz of the Anna Marie Schimmel House in Lahore and the Goethe Institut.
