Nisar calls for open session on US raid

13 May, 2011

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that joint-session of the Parliament should be open so that the nation could know the facts about Abbottabad incident. "The people who will come for briefing will face the joint-session not joint-session will face them. The briefing should be short but not an eye-wash.
Maximum time should be given to the questions of the Parliamentarians," he said on a point of order in the National Assembly. He said that if ISI and GHQ could give briefing to senior media personals then they should be invited to the joint sitting of the Parliament.
"If the whole session is not possible to remain open then some of its portion should be open," the Opposition leader said. Earlier, Federal Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar said that an amount should be allocated for construction of Munda Dam in PSDP in the forthcoming Budget-2011-12. He said this while responding to a calling attention notice in Lower House of the Parliament.
