PPP Punjab reposes confidence in Zardari, Gilani

13 May, 2011

The parliamentary body of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab has reposed confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani. The parliamentary party met Thursday with opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, Raja Riaz in the chair and discussed agenda for the ongoing session of Punjab Assembly.
Talking to media, Raja Riaz said the political situation in the country could be different had the judiciary taken notice of the 'uniformed presidents' at the presidency. According to him, PPP lawyers are examining Lahore High Court verdict restraining President Zardari from political activities at the presidency, and PPP reserves the right to appeal against it. The opposition leader pointed out that some politicians are slandering national institutions and warned them to stop such activities.
