Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief, Nawaz Sharif has called for across the board accountability of all the institutions to restore the confidence of the masses. Talking to senior anchors and intellectuals here on Thursday, he said that institutions can be strengthened by making them accountable, adding that the county could be made stronger by across the board accountability.
Referring to the current crisis in the country in the backdrop of Abbottabad incident, the PML-N chief said that the 'testing time' could be converted into an opportunity with the best strategy. About the demand of Judicial Commission into Abbottabad incident, Nawaz Sharif said that his suggestion was purely in the best interest of Pakistan, adding that he had proposed it not as head of a political party but as a Pakistani. He said that probing the Abbottabad incident through judicial commission will send a positive message to the world about Pakistan and it would also provide an opportunity for rectification ourselves.
He further said that his struggles were not meant to get power but to ensure the safety of the coming generations and integrity of the country. "We must learn a lesson from the history and should not repeat its chapters," he said, adding we have to live like a prestigious nation by determining and reprioritising our directions.
