Book fair opens at Punjab University

Vice Chancellor Punjab University, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran inaugurated the largest 3-day book fair, being organised by the Univarsity's administration, in the main corridor of Institute of Education & Research (IER), New Campus on Thursday. Heads of various departments, faculty members and a large number of students were also present. The book fair will continue till Saturday, May 14.
Later, the vice chancellor visited various book stalls and also purchased some books. Talking to mediamen, Dr Kamran said the purpose of organising book fair was to provide high quality books on discounted rates to students, teachers and the visitors and book lovers. As many as 150 renowned publishers, book-sellers, IT companies and career-counselling centres established their stalls and are selling local and foreign books on 10 to 50 percent discount. At some stalls, the publishers also distributed free-of-cost books to the visitors. On the first day, a large number of students, political, religious and social leaders, renowned journalists, doctors, lawyers and people from every walk of life visited the book fair.
