'Punjab cancels allotment of plot to SIC chief'

Punjab government has cancelled allotment of a plot to Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman, Sahibzada Haji Fazale Karim in Faisalabad. After cancellation of the plot, government also tried to retrieve the same from the possession of the religious cleric who is playing an active political role under the Barelvi school of thought.
Addressing a joint press conference, here at Lahore Press Club on Thursday, Pir Mahfooz Mashahdi, Naeem Arif Noori, Nawaz Kharal, Pir Iqbal Shah, Naeem Javed Noori, Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari, Ajmal Gilani and Pir Atharul Qadri told journalists that the concern plot had been allotted in the name of Jamia Rizvia Jhang Bazaar in Faisalabad. The administration had started constructing a hostel on the said land and its first phase had been completed. However, they said, provincial government cancelled the allotment over the pressure of Law Minister Punjab, Rana Sanaullah Khan who is a rival politician to SIC chief.
SIC leaders alleged that Punjab government is taking revengeful steps against SIC chief after his announcement to participate in national politics in the forthcoming election. They warned that if government tried to retrieve the plot forcibly, they would announce to hold a convention and start agitation movement against the provincial government.
