DHA asked to run DCK project on top most priority

Commander 5 Corps (President Executive Board DHA) Lieutenant General Zahirul Islam visited DHA City Karachi (DCK) project site here on Thursday. Administrator DHA Brigadier Aamer Raza Qureshi was also present on the occasion. DCK is an upcoming residential cum commercial project being developed by DHA as a unique housing enterprise of the metropolis.
The Corps Commander appreciated DHA's initiative of launching a mega housing project with resounding success. He said that the commencement of the project substantiated the credibility and stability of DHA as the strong entity in the field of housing and development in the country.
President Executive Board (PEB) asked DHA to run DCK project on top most priority and to ensure all out measures for speedy completion of the master plan and subsequently the initiation of fast track development of the area. He said that it was reassuring that DHA was developing the new project in a way that would ensure provision of state-of-the-art living, working and recreational experience to its residents.
Administrator DHA said that the mammoth master planning exercise of DCK project was in the advanced stage of completion. He said that the master plan model of DCK project was being developed with a pragmatic and holistic approach that focuses on developing it as a modern city of the future extending the horizon of the metropolis. He said that the entire master planning process including earmarking of plot numbers was expected to be completed by November 2011 followed by initiation of fast track development works in the area.
PEB directed DHA to ensure that the work on infrastructure development of DCK should be of international standard encompassing high class environmentally friendly amenities. He asked DHA to make judicious use of natural resources like renewable energy including solar and wind energy which will not only reduce the load on our natural power resources but also provide the residents with a cheap, guaranteed and pollution free source of power.
The Corps Commander also asked DHA to incorporate safety and security measures of the area as the most important factor of the planning parameter to ensure success and viability of the project. He said that the area should be secured by employing well thought of means and methods.
DCK Offers a natural landscape with semi hilly terrain, depressions, natural valleys, flat ground and is sprinkled with natural springs and underground water in abundance. The Corps Commander directed DHA that the exploration for water and soil be undertaken as planned on top priority. He directed that any site constraints be overcome by making use of technology.
The Corps Commander also visited a dispensary in adjacent Goth Allah Dad refurbished and made operational by DHA. He was informed that two DHA doctors and all types of medicines have been made available for the locals of the area. Corps Commander appreciated the initiative of DHA and directed that no effort should be left unturned to provide best health care facilities to the locals as a goodwill and welfare measures. The Corps Commander hoped that DHA staff and management alongwith consultant will work with total commitment to come up to the expectations of residents in providing the very best living environment.-PR
