Geelani placed under house arrest

The authorities have restricted movement of veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Geelani in Indian occupied Kashmir, to prevent him from holding a public meeting in Shopian town on Friday. The police authorities in occupied Srinagar said, Syed Ali Geelani will not be allowed to move towards Shopian district where he is scheduled to address a rally, KMS reported.
"Following the orders of District Magistrate Srinagar, Geelani will not be allowed to move towards Shopian town on Friday," a police spokesman said on Thursday evening.
