SBP's Inter School twenty20 from May 14

To promote sports activities from grassroots level, the sports committee of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is organising an Inter School T20 Cricket Tournament from May 14-21 at SBP Sports Complex, North Nazimabad, Karachi. Qasim Nawaz, Managing Director, SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBPBSC) will inaugurate the tournament, on May 14 in which eight top cricket teams of Karachi as per KCCA ranking will participate.
The first match of the tournament will be played between City School and Kamran Public School on May 14 while the final is scheduled to be played on May 21. The SBP sports committee told APP that they have decided to award various cash prizes for the best performers of the tournament. Besides trophies, the winners of the tournament will get a cash prize of Rs 20,000 while the runners up will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
The cash awards will also be awarded to the man of the match, best batsman, best bowler and best fielder of the tournament. It may be pointed out here that the State Bank of Pakistan has been instrumental, particularly in the last couple of years for the promotion of cricket in the country by hiring young cricketers. SBP cricket team has won the Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Trophy 2011 (Division II) in its first appearance after 27 years in this championship.
