Swiss franc down versus euro

14 May, 2011

The Swiss franc edged lower against the dollar and the euro on Friday as fears regarding Greece's debt problems eased and markets await more Swiss macro data. Worries about the situation in Greece have weighed on the euro, but have helped the Swiss franc, often seen as a safe-haven that investors flee to in times of uncertainty.
The franc was trading 0.3 percent lower against the euro compared to the New York close at 1.2626 per euro, but some analysts said Greece worries could limit the euro's appreciation. Against the dollar, the franc was 0.2 percent lower at 0.8857 per dollar.
