The Karachi Port handled 73,238 tonnes of cargo including 54,622 tonnes of import cargo, 18,616 tonnes of export cargo and 2,250 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 54,622 tonnes comprised of 36,179 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12 tonnes of general cargo; 18,431 tonnes of bulk cargo: 15,246 tonnes of coal and 3,185 tonnes of rock phosphate.
The total export cargo of 18,616 tonnes comprised of 10,016 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,124 tonnes of general cargo; 4,076 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,218 tonnes of cement; 858 tonnes of talcum powder and 3,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Four ships namely Lavender, Ital Ottima, Oriental Rose and BSLE Star carrying two container ships, ethanol and talcum powder respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz YM Europe, APL Sharjah, Ital Ottima, CSL Ride, Oriental Rose, YM Uranus and Golden Dominance carrying four container ships, naphtha and two ethanol carriers respectively are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely YM Uranus, Golden Dominance, YM America, Taban-1 and Al-Mirqab carrying naphtha, ethanol and three container ships respectively to sail on Friday, while three ships namely Ital Ottima, BSLE Star and Red Sea Spirit with container ships, talcum powder and coal carrier are expected to sail on Sunday.
Six vessels viz Sea Sky, MOL Success, Al-Mirqab, Grand Orion, Ellenita and Kiran Asya with LSFO, two container ships, package, coal and wheat respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while seven vessels viz Oriental Emerald, Ts Pusan, Silver Craft, APL Ruby, Lt. Genova, Cordelia and Conti Express carrying naphtha, four container ships, coal carrier and steel & general cargo carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
