Lord Nazir endorses parliament's joint resolution

Member of the British upper house of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmed has extended his full endorsement and backing for the joint resolution passed by the Pakistani parliament calling for immediate halt to drone attacks by the US and to uphold country's sovereignty and national security at all costs.
In a statement on Sunday, he said a democratic government was functioning in Pakistan and the decision taken by the representatives of the people must be accepted with respect and dignity.
The Labour party peer said overseas Pakistanis including the Kashmiri community in the UK fully supports the decisions of the government taken in the wake of the killing of al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in Abbotabad through covert operations by the US special forces. He said the Pakistani Diaspora desire to see strong and robust Pakistani institutions and it was imperative to strengthen both the countries and its organisations.
