'Government is concentrating on development of infrastructure'

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that government is concentrating on development of infrastructure as it is essential for speedy development and promotion of economic and trade activities.
He said that a high standard of construction work as well as transparency and timely completion of development projects was being ensured. He said that work was speedily in progress for making Lahore Jaranwala Road a dual carriageway and completion of the project would result in better transport facilities to the masses. He said that measures were also being taken for the promotion of sports activities and 100 cricket grounds would be developed in the provincial metropolis.
As per information of DGPR received here Sunday, he was talking during his visit to review the pace of construction of Lahore Jaranwala dual carriageway at Faizpur Interchange and inauguration of Mian Nawaz Sharif Cricket Complex in Shahdara. Members National Assembly Malik Raiz, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Members Provincial Assembly, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, Ali Asghar Munda, Secretary Communication and Works, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer Lahore were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister while inspecting the construction work of Lahore Jaranwala Road at Faizpur Interchange said that government was determined to ensure timely and quality completion of development projects and every penny of public money was being utilised on the welfare of masses in a transparent manner. He directed to accelerate the pace of work on Lahore Jaranwal dual carriageway as well as ensure a high standard of construction work.
While addressing the people at the inauguration of Nawaz Sharif Cricket Complex at Shahdara, the Chief Minister said that the cricket ground was a gift for the people of Shahdara and it would be beautified on the pattern of Qaddafi Stadium. He said that a modern pavilion had also been built for the players in the cricket ground. He directed administration to beautify Shahdara cricket ground within a month and the best quality grass should be planted. He said that people should identify the lands grabbed by Qabza Mafia so that those could be recovered and used for recreational activities. He said that a children park would be developed at the place of bus terminal in Shahdara while the project of setting up of a 250-bed hospital in Shahdara would also be completed within a year.
When the Chief Minister reached Shaadara to inaugurate Nawaz Sharif Cricket Complex, a large number of people gathered on the spot and he freely mingled with them. A cricket match was in progress in the ground and the Chief Minister shook hands with the players individually. Earlier, in a briefing at Faizpur Interchange Secretary Communication & Works informed that Lahore Jaranwala dual carriageway project would be completed by August 14.
