Diego fined, reprimanded for tantrum

Brazil midfielder Diego will be fined an undisclosed sum and reprimanded by his German league club VfL Wolfsburg after storming out having been left out of their crucial relegation battle. "He will be given a fine, then a warning," confirmed Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath on Sunday with the fine set to be in the five-figure range.
"After that, we need to see what happens." The 26-year-old play-maker, who has won 33 caps for Brazil, walked out of the pre-match team meeting after being told by Magath he had been left out of the starting line-up for Saturday's 3-1 win at Hoffenheim.
He then refused to travel with the team to the stadium, but trained with his team on Sunday morning as though nothing had happened after his side narrowly avoided relegation. "The most important thing is that we have stayed in the league," the Brazilian told reporters.
