Bollywood’s dancing diva Sunny Leone is supposed to perform at a New Year Eve show in Bengaluru, however, a young political party known as ‘Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene’ has threatened to commit mass suicide if the actress resumes her plans of performing.
The members of the South Indian party alleged that these kinds of shows are a threat to Kannada’s culture. "We are against Sunny wearing short clothes. If she wears sari and takes part in the event, even we'll go watch her. Sunny doesn't have a good past. We shouldn't be encouraging such people. We will not hesitate to commit suicide on December 31," said leader of the protesters, Harish, while talking to the media.

The event organizers reacted to the threats by issuing a statement saying that this New Year’s event was a family affair. "This is a family-type program with Sunny dancing on a Kannada song, and I, being a Kannadiga, have kept the program's standard based on the Bengaluru culture itself,’’ Pink Villa quoted the organizer.
While relating to Sunny facing ban on performing at the event, a senior police official said they may not permit the actress for the event. "We haven't received any official communication from the police. We'll wait for it before calling off the event. We don't know why there is so much fuss about Leone performing here. She is here only to perform for a family show," he further added.
On work front, Sunny recently released her latest movie ‘Tera Intezaar’ opposite Arbaaz Khan and the actress is also said to play the titular role of the actress Meena Kumari in her biopic.
