Allies assure Gilani of full cooperation

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has urged his new cabinet colleagues from PML-Q and MQM to stand united. Official documents available with Business Recorder reveal that the Prime Minister expressed the confidence that the new partners in government would not only bring political stability and strengthen democracy but would also do their part in sending a positive signal to investors, businessmen and trade circles about the government's commitment to continue its agenda of economic, financial and social reforms.
He said that the government is open to new ideas and innovation and that the new partners would bring new initiatives while taking charge of their responsibilities. He said that the people of Pakistan expected that the new set-up should strive to maintain transparency and optimum standards of efficiency in the performance of their duties.
Reciprocating the sentiments of Prime Minister, Senior Minister, Chaudhry Pervez Ellahi of PML (Q), assured, on behalf of his party colleagues, full support to the government in bringing stability and to strengthen Pakistan in the most challenging times in its history.
Pervaiz Ellahi said that it was only the political stability, which could bring in economic stability and, therefore, there was a strong need for political stability in the present scenario of precarious economic and security situation in the country. Dr Farooq Sattar of MQM also assured full support to the government in its actions aimed at the welfare of the common people of Pakistan through a policy of economic justice, an equitable tax system and social sector reforms in the country, the document concluded.
