Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday administered oath of the office as Acting Chief Election Commissioner to Justice Javed Iqbal, Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan. In a simple ceremony Justice Javed Iqbal, senior most Judge of the apex Court, took oath, as the CEC has proceeded abroad.
Judges of the Supreme Court, Attorney General for Pakistan Molvi Anwarul Haq, Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan, prominent lawyers and law officers attended the ceremony. Dr Faqir Hussain, Registrar, Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of oath taking ceremony.
