Sindh government to release funds for on-going ADP schemes

The Sindh government has decided to release all remaining funds for on-going schemes under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2010, which would be completed in 2011-12 fiscal year. This was disclosed by the Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Planning and Development Dr Kaiser Bengali here on Tuesday.
He said that many schemes were pending since long. The advisor said, "we are working on early completion of schemes, and we would give funds to all the on-going schemes in ADP 2011-12. He said that 236 schemes have been completed so far, while the work on other schemes has not yet been completed.
He said that 1500 on-going and 150 new schemes would be included in ADP 2011-12. To a question regarding flood rehabilitation schemes, Dr Kaiser said that Sindh government got a loan of $405 million from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the rehabilitation of flood-damaged infrastructure and irrigation system which would also be t part of ADP 2011-12. He said that two bridges on Indus highway would be included in ADP 2011-12 while some motorway style roads also would also be added in Annual Development Programme 2011-12.
