A delegation of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) and Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) reached Dhaka on Wednesday to attend SAARC Cotton Conference.
The delegation was led by Haji Muhammad Akram, Chairman of FPCCI's Textile & Ginning committee while other participants are Mian Mehmood Ahmed from Khanpur, Mukhtar Ahmed Baloch from Jhang, Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khandwa from Dera Ghazi Khan, Sardar Khalil Ahmed Aliani from Dera Ghazi Khan and Mian Ashfaq Ahmed from Karachi.
Haji Akram told newsmen that it was a positive development that cotton-producing countries of South Asia had convened a conference to discuss the problems they were currently facing. This conference, he said, would not help promote trade but also help reduce poverty and unemployment in the region. He stressed the need for exchanging technology among the SAARC countries.
