"KESC does not have any malicious intent to bother its customers. We are a regulated body with a prime focus on serving citizens of Karachi. We have an over 2.2 million customer base. It is possible to have some occasional error specific to any particular consumer or a few consumers.
However, any such error, whenever brought to the knowledge of the utility are immediately resolved. Our CEO has also formulated a task force for billing that addresses and resolves disputed cases and this task force directly reports to the CEO. The company operates fully under the laws and regulations of Nepra." "Though we don't have any specific complaint from the consumer however it seems that may be some of the consumers who have gone through Cycle Day realignment according to feeder and or block. Such consumer may get 2 bills in a months. Such matters are always pre-informed. In such cases the consumer usually gets the second bill on average basis and the differential gets adjusted in subsequent month.
The Cycle Day realignment is being done any utility as well as KESC on routine basis and the consumers who have a difference of less than 1-2 weeks may complaint of getting 2 bills in a month. The consumer, who got bill of Rs 1800 for 33 units, may not have paid the first bill/or paid but not updated in system by a rare error. That is why he may have got a second bill on normal basis of 33 units after realignment bringing the entire bill to Rs 1800 (current bill + arrear)."
