Rice, wheat prices higher on grain market

Rice and wheat prices were higher on the wholesale grain market on Thursday in process of modest trading, dealers said. On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type picked up Rs 25 to Rs 3525 while best quality was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3600, other types maintained overnight levels due to balanced demand and supply, they said.
On the cereal side, wheat old (Bardan) and new types were quoted higher at Rs 2420-2435, respectively, they said. On the grams side yellow peas Canada low quality shed Rs 25 to Rs 3575-3775, yellow peas Canada dal followed the same pattern, shedding the same amount to Rs 3925-4075, yellow peas Ukraine lost the same amount to Rs 3500-3700, yellow peas dal Ukraine low quality was down by Rs 25 to Rs 3875, however, the best variety gained Rs 25 to Rs 4125 and bajra low type picked up Rs 50 to Rs 2650 and best type gained Rs 100 to Rs 3000, they added. On the seed side cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type was down by Rs 30 Rs 1270 and the best variety was also lower by Rs 20 to Rs 1330, they said.
