Cops given awards for good performance

Capital Police gave awards to those officers and officials of Islamabad Police who discharged their duties in a responsible manner. Eighteen outstanding cops of the Security Division of the Capital Police were given awards for their good performance in making comprehensive security arrangements at the parliament house and its lodges.
Dr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security) and SP SSG, Naimat Ullah Kundi, gave away awards to outstanding officials of Capital Police on Friday. Dr Mujeeb directed all SPs to award their subordinates for their better performance in future as well.
He said that police heads of various wings should purely adopt the idea of rewarding the cops to improve their efficiency and better output during their service. He said that a policy of zero tolerance against corruption has also been adopted in capital police, which is being aggressively pursued to stop the misuse of power by the cops or sluggishness in performing their duties.
He further said that accountability system helps improve the performance of any department and working of the staff can be easily judged through it. The DIG said that accountability campaign has been aggressively launched in capital police department to keep them away from corrupt practices and make them more responsible towards profession.
Islamabad Police have already started an accountability system to monitor performance of the police officials and also awarded punishment to several officers for dereliction of duties, negligence, poor investigation, absence and involvement in corruption, he added.
Those who were awarded include Sub-Inspector Ghulam Asghar, ASI Akbar Ali, Head Constable Allah Dita, Constables Muhammad Imran, Khadim Hussain, Amjad Iqbal, Hassan Dil, Zubair Ahmed, Allah Bux, Attique Ahmed, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Idress, Zareen Akhtar, Muhammad Jehangir, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imran Azad, Aurangzeb and Nisar Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Police have arranged two summer schools for the children between 6- to 15-year of age at Police Lines Headquarters and first camp is going to start from June 1 and second on July 1 aimed at enhancing liaison with the community through friendly measures.
The children are given admission to basic computer learning, swimming, horse-riding, martial art and other courses. The officials of Islamabad Police will impart training among the children and the best performers will be given away prizes at the end of summer camp.
