CID arrests three suspected militants, recovers weapons

Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police on Friday claimed to have arrested three militants of banned outfit Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered weapons from their possessions.
According to details, a team headed by SSP Fayyaz Khan on a tip-off conducted a raid at Al Fateh Colony sector 10 1/2 of Orangi Town and arrested three militants namely Alam Zaib alias Imran and Noor Shah son of Abdur Rahim, Hassan Dar alias Sheena son of Muhammad Rahim and Inamur Rehman son of Umer Rehman and recovered 20kgs of high explosive material, 2 grenades, 3 TT pistols and several rounds from their possessions.
Police claimed that the said militants, who belonged to Abu Mansoor group, Sawat, committed several heinous crimes including targeted killings, kidnapping for ransom, robberies in the metropolis. They said the accused Alam Zaib also involved in several terrorist activities against military and other law enforcement agencies after having been inducted in TTP wing of Commander Akram alias Mohsin (Fatehpur Sawat).
They further said the accused, who came to Karachi in 2009, had involved in 18 targeted killings along with Umer Sahab alias Mufti Sahab group. They said the accused Alam during initial course of investigation revealed that they had targeted mostly those persons, who were suspected to be informers of intelligence agencies.
They also claimed to have recovered a hit list of political workers and CID officials from their possession and added that they were also planning to flare up terrorist activities especially, suicide bombing in metropolis on the direction of alleged Mufti Sahab. Further investigation is underway.
