PIA clarifies a news item appearing in a section of the Press with reference to Joint Action Committee's Statement (Placement of PIA employees on senior level positions). All executive positions in PIA are approved after thorough deliberations, viability and job requirement by the Board of Directors and not by any individual, PIA spokesman said here on Friday.
All administrative decisions and appointments are the prerogative of the competent authority and the Board of Directors. As per corporation's policy, associations or unions do not have any role in management decisions and therefore should rather indulge in constructive and positive activities in improving the health of the Airline, he said. The competent authority is the one most knowledgeable to decide who can best perform the functions of the office, the Spokesman concluded.-PR
