Three traders' organisations merged

Three traders' organisations merged to form a new association Peshawar Traders' Alliance to wage joint struggle for the protection of the rights of trading community. The traders' organisation included Markazi Tanzeem-e-Tajiran, Peshawar Cantonment, Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Peshawar and Peshawar Business Council have joined hands for this purpose.
The decision was taken in a joint meeting of three organisations here Monday with president, Markazi Tanzeem-e-Tajiran, Sharafat Ali Mubarak in the chair. Haji Mohammad Israr, has been elected as Chairman while Haji Mohammad Afzal as President, Javed Akhtar as Senior Vice President, Waris Khan Afridi, General Secretary, Sadiq Amin Press Secretary and Nadeem Rauf as Finance Secretary respectively. A 15-member executive committee would be elected through mutual consultation.
During the meeting, it was decided that the three organisations of business community should be merged and a new alliance be formed for effectively protecting the rights of traders of Peshawar. The meeting decided to actively participate in the May 25 strike against power loadshedding, kidnapping for ransoms, lawlessness and Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) under the banner of the new organisation.
It was also decided in the meeting that trader's community would unite under the banner of Peshawar Traders Alliance and hold protest rally on May 25 against electricity loadshedding, kidnapping for ransom, enforcement of RGST etc. The participants of the meeting also expressed the resolve that Peshawar Traders Alliance will not hesitate to render any sort of sacrifice for the benefit of trading community of the city.
