Amir Khan released on bail

Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) leader Amir Khan was released from Central Jail on Monday, Aaj News reported. According to the channel, the Sindh High Court revoked the life term awarded to Amir and ordered his release on bail. MQM H leaders Afaq Ahmed and Amir Khan had already been granted bail on May 10 following submission of surety bonds amounting to Rs 300,000 each.
While Khan was set free, Ahmed has to remain in jail till a case of target killing against him is decided. A lower court had awarded life term to the two Haqiqi leaders in the murder case of Farooq Ahmad who was brother of MQM provincial minister Haroon Siddiqui. Landhi Police had registered a case against Afaq Ahmad and Amir Khan in 1998.
