Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 104,551 tonnes of cargo including 63,154 tonnes of import cargo, 41,397 tonnes of export cargo and 5,698 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 63,154 tonnes comprised of 36,683 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,607 tonnes of general cargo; 5,609 tonnes of bulk cargo and 19,255 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,397 tonnes comprised of 22,550 tonnes of containerised cargo; 500 tonnes of general cargo and 18,347 tonnes of bulk cargo. Nine ships namely FSL Singapore, Hibiya Park, Patriot, Wan Hai-605, Vira Bhum, Hanjin Durban, Hong Xin Angel, An Xin Jiang and Seagull-D carrying oil tanker, chemicals, vehicles, three container ships, rock phosphate, general cargo and wheat carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Trave Trader, President Folk, Bunga Aster, Hibiya Park, Danica Red, Patriot and Oriental Chem-I carrying two container ships, palm oil, chemicals, general cargo, vehicles and ethanol respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely President Folk, YM Europe, Oriental Chem I, Danica Red and Endurance with two container ships, ethanol and two general cargoes respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while another ship namely Bunga Aster with palm oil is expected to sail on Thursday.
Four vessels viz Kassos, Hanjin Paris, Thuringia Express and Abba carrying LSFO, two container ships and Steel coils respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while seven vessels viz Miramis, Ginga Caracel, Royal Aqua, Bravo, Ital Onore, MSC Peggy and OEL Trust carrying two ethanol ships, high speed diesel oil, four container ships respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

The total export cargo of 34,079 tonnes includes 1,688 tonnes of rice; 2,271 tonnes of cement and 30,120 tonnes of containerised cargo. Five ships namely CV MSC Magali, CV Al-Mutanabbi, CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV UASC Dammam and MV Liberty Spirit sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships namely MT Iron Monger-5, MT Argent Freesia and MV Malpensa are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz V MSC Magali, CV Al-Mutanabbi, CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV UASC Dammam, MV Alaska-II, MV Sapphire-II, MV Bussara Naree, MV Liberty Spirit, MT Iron Monger-5, MT Argent Freesia and MV Malpensa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, rice, cement, furnace oil, phosphoric acid and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Ten ships namely MSC Natalia, Izumo, Alexi-I, Gulf Safwa, Gulf Coral, Ginga Caracal, Bussan Naree, Nahide-M, Orient Chem-1 and Chang Qiang carrying containers, cement, iron ore, diesel oil, palm oil, wheat, chemicals and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV MSC Natalia, CV Izumo, MV Nahide-M, MV Gulf Safwa and MT Orient Chem-1 scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat, iron ore, and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP), Iron Ore & Coal Berth and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while a container vessel viz CV CMA CGM Bellini due to arrive on the same day. Six ships namely CV APL Chile, CV Margurit Rickmers, CV Angles, MV Wales-II, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Sigloo Star are due to arrive on Thursday.
