Six TTP activists arrested

Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh police on Saturday claimed to have arrested six militants of banned outfit Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered huge cache of drugs, arms and ammunition from their possession. A team headed by SSP CID Fayyaz Khan, on a tip-off, conducted raids in different areas of the metropolis including Hub River Road, Baldia, Manghopir road and Bismillah Colony of Landhi and arrested six militants.
These are, namely, Syed Ali Shah Mehsud, Mumtaz Ahmed Mehsud, Haji Saeed Mahmood Mehsud, Abdul Khaliq Tokhti, Gull Zaman Afghani and Mohammad Saleem Afghani. CID also claimed to have recovered six TT pistols, five kg of hashish and heavy ammunition from the alleged militants' possessions.
Expressing his views, Fayyaz Khan said the militants, who belonged to Qari Hussain Mehsud group of TTP, involved in several heinous crimes including targeted killing, robberies, kidnapping for ransom, police encounters and others. He further said the detained persons collected funds for those militants who are fighting against Pakistani forces. Further investigation is underway, he added.
