Non-availability of senior doctors

Secretary Health Punjab, Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, has taken serious notice of the news items regarding the non-availability of senior doctors, specially the professors and sought a report from the principals of medical colleges in this regard.
Secretary Health has directed all the principals of medical colleges to ensure availability of the professors in medical colleges as well as in the attached hospitals. He directed the principals to monitor the punctuality and office duty hours of the professors and senior doctors and a report must be furnished to his office. Jehanzeb Khan categorically said that the principals are responsible to ensure the availability and observation of duty hours by all the employees, including seniors doctors and professors etc. He further directed that disciplinary action would be taken against the defaulters. A circular has been issued to all the principals of medical colleges from the office of the Secretary Health, in this regard.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of Health Department has said that the Health Department, Punjab has not withdrawn the free treatment facility from lawyers and their families. He further said that as per orders of the Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, free treatment facilities have been extended to all citizens along with the lawyer's community in government hospitals.
