Swiss franc falls versus dollar

31 May, 2011

The Swiss franc fell against the dollar on Monday and flirted with record highs against the euro as markets anticipated a verdict from European and IMF officials on Greece's drive to bring its budget deficit under control. The franc was slightly weaker against the euro compared to Friday's New York close of 1.2159, trading at 1.2178 francs per euro, after rising to a fresh high against the euro on Friday.
Against the dollar the franc was trading at 0.8519 per dollar, down from New York's Friday close of 0.8491, as pressure eased off the greenback after a sharp slide last week.
