Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 260,282 tonnes of cargo including 167,986 tonnes of import cargo, 92,296 tonnes of export cargo and 4,111 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 167,986 tonnes comprised of 69,678 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,270 tonnes of general cargo; 1,413 tonnes of bulk cargo: 913 tonnes of wheat; 500 tonnes of rock phosphate and 93,625 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 92,296 tonnes comprised of 55,595 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,667 tonnes of general cargo; 34,194 tonnes of bulk cargo: 7,141 tonnes of cemrnt; 27,053 tonnes of wheat and 840 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Ten ships namely Cathrina, TS Jakarta, CSL Ride, OOCL Charleston, APL Sokhna, OEL Trust, Genius Star-VII, Al-Sabiyah, Royal Aqua and MT Lahore carrying cement, five container ships, steel, two high speed diesel oil vessels, crude oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz MOL Komati, Hyundai General, Bunga Raya Lapan, Genius Star-VII, Sheila Mcdevit, Leopard-B, Nadeem and Ginga Caracel carrying three container ships, steel carrier, wheat carrier, rock phosphate, cement carrier and ethanol ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Bunga Raya Lapan, Masar Trade, Yong Jin, APL Shenzhen, MOL Komati and Hyundai General with cement carrier and container ship respectively expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely Ginga Caracel and Christina with ethanol ship and wheat carrier are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz Quetta, Lodestar Genesis and Cape Maas carrying crude oil tanker, chemicals and mogas respectively due to arrive on Monday, while six vessels viz STI Coral, Dawoo Diamond, Samin-1, APL Spinel, Namrun and African Jaguar carrying ethanol ships, three container ships, coal ship and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The total export cargo of 42,794 tonnes includes 15,443 tonnes of wheat; 5,187 tonnes of cement and 22,164 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Maersk Wisconsin, MT Bunga Aster and MT Pertiwi sailed out to sea on Monday morning. A total number of nine vessels viz CV Maersk Wisconsin, MV Wales-II, MV Sapphire-II, MV Bussara Naree, MV Nahide-M, MV Chang Qaing, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Bunga Aster and MT Pertiwi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Alexi-I, Th Symphony and SC Bei Hai carrying cement, furnace oil and palm oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz MT Th Symphony and MT SC Bei Hai carrying furnace oil and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday, while another ship namely CV MSC Sena is due to arrive on the same day.
Six ships namely CV Al-Noof, CV Al-Farahidi, CV Nedlloyd Barentz, CV MSC Magali, MT Maistrous and MT Argent Daisy with containers, diesel oil and palm oil are due to arrive on Tuesday, while four ships namely CV OOCL San Francisco, CV ACX Marguerite, MV Abdus and MT Al-Soor-II are due to arrive on Wednesday.
