Prices tend mostly lower on grain market

Bearish trend was seen on the wholesale grain market on Monday as supply from upcountry centre was steady, dealers said. On the cereal side wheat old bardan old and new were down by Rs 20 to Rs 2480 and Rs 2495. Gur low type fell by Rs 100 to Rs 6500 while the good type was unchanged at Rs 7600 and Khandsari came down due to less demand, falling by Rs 100 to Rs 7500, other items maintained weekend levels in process of trading, they said.
On the grams side, gram Australia shed Rs 50 to Rs 4300-4500, grams dal Australian was lower by Rs 100 to s 5050-5200, yellow peas Canada low type declined by Rs 50 to Rs 3600 and better type was down by Rs 25 to Rs 3775, yellow peas dal Canada, however, gained by Rs 100 to Rs 4100-4150, yellow peas Ukraine low type shed Rs 75 to Rs 3475 and better quality was down by Rs 100 to Rs 3650 in process of trading, yellow peas dal Ukraine low type was lower by Rs 300 to Rs 3700 and best type lost Rs 75 to Rs 4050, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-9 Sindh gained Rs 200 to 4700-4800 and Irri-6 Sindh low type picked up Rs 25 to Rs 3650 and best quality was up by Rs 100 to Rs 3800 and Basmati No 386 was quoted at Rs 5700-5800 amid hectic trading activity due to booking for exports, they said.
On the seed side, rapeseeds Mirpurlane low type shed Rs 200 to Rs 2100 and good type also Rs 175 to Rs 2150 and cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh inferior type was higher by Rs 30 to Rs 1350 and best quality picked up Rs 10 to Rs 1400, they said.
