A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has barred an anti terrorism court (ATC) of Faisalabad from concluding trial in Sahiwal lawyers burning case and summoned record of the case for Thursday (today).
The bench issued this order in petition of police officials involved in the case who sought permission from the trial court to hold cross examination afresh on statement of complainant of the case FIR, the then president of Sahiwal bar Usman Sheikh. But, they said, the trial court rejected their plea.
Petitioners asked the court that the trial be directed to allow them to hold cross-examination again so that the principles of justice and equity could be observed.
