Nawaz for achieving economic sovereignty

A former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the goal of "economic sovereignty" can only be achieved by creating environment conducive to investment in the country.
"Overseas Pakistanis are precious asset of the country and they should play their effective role for promoting investment in the country," he said while talking to a delegation of PML-N international affairs, led by Kaiser Mahmood, who called on him.
Nawaz told the delegation members that PML-N would not disappoint the nation and would steer the country out of the prevailing crises. He said the overseas Pakistanis must play their role in projecting the country's soft image abroad. He also lauded the efforts of overseas Pakistanis for improving the country image through their hard work.
Nawaz said that strong PML-N is guarantee of stable Pakistan. He asked the party activists to strengthen the party. He said the party would come up to expectations of countrymen. The PML-N leader said the country is facing hard situation and crises, "and we would be able to overcome price hike, unemployment and other public issues with the support of masses". He added: "We would not tolerate corrupt practices and continue to expose and stop wrong doings of the rulers".
Nawaz, accompanied by Saad Rafique, visited the residence of Lieutenant Yasir Abbas who was killed in PNS Mehran attack in Karachi, and remained there for some time and offered "fateha" for the eternal peace of departed soul. Talking to Yasir's parents, Nawaz said the nation was proud of its sons who laid down their lives in the line of their duties. Colonel (R) Jaffar Abbas said that he and his family were ready to serve the nation till the last drop of their blood.
