Secretary Health Punjab Jehanzeb Khan has designated the District Officers (E&I) of respective districts, serving under industries, commerce and investment department to act as ex-officio Food Inspectors.
These inspectors will exercise power provided under Section 17 (Part-III) of the Punjab Pure Food Ordinance, 1960 as well as Rule 39 (Part VII) of the Punjab Pure Food Rules, 2007, within their areas of jurisdiction and to launch prosecution in courts under aforesaid ordinance. The notification issued from office of the Secretary Health Punjab will be effective till 30th June, 2012.
